AUBURN – Priscilla L. Rideout, 83, of Hebron passed away on Jan. 19, 2019, at Clover Healthcare. She was born on Nov. 19, 1935, in Monmouth to Elmer W. and Carrie (Riggs) Daggett. She attended Lisbon Schools. Priscilla worked at Hillcrest Farms, Cornwall Wood Products and Norway Footwear. In her retirement she mowed cemeteries with her husband. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Windham. She enjoyed reading, going to camp in Sherman at Pickett Mountain, snowmobiling as well as hunting, fishing and traveling to Alaska, Israel and going on cruises. Priscilla loved helping others and was very much a giver. She also loved to sing and play the harmonica. She married Dawn I. Rideout on May 20, 1955. She is survived by her children, Sue Leighton (David) of Oxford, Dawn Donahue of Hebron, Walter Rideout of Oxford; brothers, Carroll Daggett of Hebron and Joseph Daggett of Georgia; sisters, Gwendolyn Lorrain of Mechanic Falls. Joyce Turner of Hebron and Virginia (Ginny) Kenney of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dawn, in 2005; son-in-law, Paul Donahue; great-grandson, Levi; and eight brothers, Kenny, Perley, Chet, Bill, Henry, Fred, Lewis and Sonny.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Clover Manor for their wonderful care. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at 2 p.m., at Chandler Funeral Home, 26 W. Dwinal St., Mechanic Falls. Interment will be held at Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta later in the spring. Online condolences may be shared with her family at www.chandlerfunerals.com
