JAY – It is with great sadness that the family of Roger P. Ouellette announce his passing on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at the age of 85. He was born in Biddeford on March 11, 1933, the son of Frank X. Ouellette and Lelia (Lapointe) Ouellette.

He attended local schools, graduated from Livermore Falls High School, then from Maine Maritime Academy with a BS degree in marine engineering. After a brief period in the merchant marines, Roger returned home to marry his high school sweetheart and fiancée, Jane Burbank. They married at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on April 19, 1955. They lived in Key West, Fla. while Roger served on active duty in the United States Navy.

Upon returning to Livermore Falls, Roger joined his parents in the family furniture business. He was active in many civic and community organizations. He devoted many years to scouting, rural health and the library trustees. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Jane and Roger enjoyed 62 years of love and marriage before Jane passed away in 2017.

Survivors include Roger’s brother Dr. Conrad Ouellette and his wife Kathy of Prescott, Ariz.; his daughter Debra Daniels and her husband Mark of Jay, his son Roger II and his wife Deborah of Turner, his son Jack and his wife Mary of Clermont, Fla., his son Mark of Livermore, and his son Richard and his wife Lori of Livermore. In addition, he leaves seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Your prayers for the repose of Roger’s soul are appreciated.

The family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Health, especially Mary LaCroix and Shanna Teague for their loving care and support. They would also like to thank Father Paul Dumais and Maurice Castonguay for all their home visit, as well as the parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Church for all their spiritual support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1 Church St., Jay, with a gathering of family and friends at the parish hall following services.
