BANGOR  – Francois Narel “Frank” Dubois, 80, died January 23, 2019 at EMMC, in Bangor, after a battle with the Flu. He was born July 30, 1938 to Eric & Cecile Dubois in Lewiston Maine.

Frank joined the Maine National Guard at the age of 16 and later was commissioned and entered active duty serving as a Green Beret in Vietnam and served until 1972. He became an Army Reserve Recruiter and retired in 1996 with 38 years of service.

A second career began when he and his wife bought the Moose River Lodge in Jackman. He served on regional and state tourism councils, The Governor’s Council on Tourism, along with serving as a local selectman in Jackman, Maine.

Frank was a member of the Spicket Masonic Lodge #85 A.F. & A.M. in Salem N.H, a life time member of the VFW in Jackman, Maine, as well as a registered Maine State guide.

He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, and a grandson.

Frank is survived by his wife Linda (Gifford) Dubois and their sons, Eric of Ranger Training Camp Rudder, FL., Brent of Hampden, Maine, and Sean of The Forks, Maine. He is also survived by his daughter, Therese and sons, Tony, David, Danny, and Russell along with eight brothers and sisters; Roger, Normand, Al, Gus, Claudette, Renee, Paul, Pauline, and Marc; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment will be held in the Arlington National Cemetery.
