Dirigo NHS holds senior lunch
DIXFIELD — The Dirigo National Honor Society will sponsor a free senior citizens’ luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Dirigo High School, 145 Weld St.
The menu will include turkey and gravy or ham, rice, rolls, beverages and dessert. There will also be raffles available. All proceeds are donated to Dirigo scholarship funds.
Take-out is available. The lunch will be done before the start of the Super Bowl.
Board Game Cafe at library
FREEPORT — The Board Game Cafe will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Freeport Community Library.
There will be a variety of games to choose from. Adult supervision required. This event is free and open to the public.

MMP Democratic Committee to meet
POLAND — The next meeting of the MMP Democratic Committee (Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland) will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Ricker Library.
This is an opportunity to talk with our senator and representatives about what is currently happening in Augusta.
The snow date is Tuesday, Feb. 26.
Tea tasting, book repurposing event
FREEPORT — Learn how to repurpose old books in a new way from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Freeport Community Library.
Folks will be making a paper flower out of old book pages. Ages 7 and up. Sign-up required for this craft; limited to 30 participants.
There will also be a drop-in tea tasting for all ages from 4 to 4:45 p.m. There will be a selection of loose-leaf green, black and herbal teas. Adult supervision required for children under 11.

Swingin’ Bears to hold dance
PARIS — Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will have its monthly dance from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Oxford Hills Middle School, 100 Pine St., South Paris.
Mike Dusoe will be the caller and Al Hipkins will cue the rounding dancing. There will be mainstream and plus tips. Non-dancers are invited to come at no charge. Dancer admission is $8 per person.
Refreshments will be available throughout the evening. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawings.

Family Fun Day in Rumford
RUMFORD — The Rumford Parks Department will host their annual Family Fun Day from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hosmer Field Skating Rink.
Free skate rentals will be available. This event is family-friendly.
There will be free refreshments available, including hot chocolate, hot dogs, burgers, chips and water.
