LEWISTON – Leon Morse of Lewiston died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday Feb. 7, 2019 at the age of 73.

Leon Leslie Morse (Hidy) was born to Leon Archer Morse and Irene Blanche Curtis in Augusta on June 9th, 1945.

He attended Monmouth Academy, worked at the Star Dye Company in Winthrop and later at Bath Iron Works as a ship fitter.

He had a passion for (racing) John Deere tractors, volunteer work and giving of his time to others. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Monmouth for many years, three of which as Captain. He acted as a liaison for Ricker assisting migrant workers with their needs and was very involved with Pathway Church. He loved carpentry and was always up for a challenge creating everything from cabinets to decks to furniture.

He loved games and sweets but most of all his bride Jacquie. Married in 2014 they traveled and enjoyed every sunny day. Never missing a walk on the beach, exploring new trails and especially meeting new people.

Leon is survived by his wife Jacquie Emond; and her five children: Ann, Steve, Jim, Judy and Sue, his two children by his first wife, Bonnie and John; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
