Meet candidates

NEW SHARON — The Town of New Sharon’s Board of Selectmen invites you to join us for a Meet the Candidates Morning Social on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8 to 9:30 a.m, at the Cape Cod Hill School. Meet your fellow residents who are running for an open seat on the Board of Selectmen. The moderator will be Paul Mills, and light refreshments will be available.

Election day is Friday, March 1, and voting takes place from noon to 7 p.m. at the Town Office. The annual Town Meeting begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at the Cape Cod Hill School.

Irish evening

FAYETTE — Enjoy an Irish Evening with the Friends of Starling Hall on Saturday, March 9, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Fayette Central School. The fundraiser will include an old-fashioned Irish boiled dinner (corned beef and cabbage with vegetables and Irish soda bread) and Irish and Celtic music by the fiddle group Sloo Jam.

All proceeds will be used for the restoration of the historic Starling Grange Hall. Donations are $10 per person, or $5 for a child 5 and under. The price for fellowship and fun: priceless.
