It is pretty evident to me that former Gov. Paul LePage is emulating his favorite politician, Donald Trump.
Does anyone really believe that the only hotel in which LePage could book a room was the Trump hotel? What the heck, it was on the taxpayers’ dime, so why not stay at the most expensive place and make points with Trump. Filet mignon, surf-and-turf, Chateau Frontenac — really?
It sounds to me like the governor was living pretty large at taxpayers’ expense. If he was not trying to hide his expenditures, why did it take so long for them to be released?
He has actually said he might come back to run for governor again.
I would tell him “no, thanks.” Maine can do better.
