Arlie E. Rowe

AUBURN – Arlie E. Rowe, 71, of South Paris, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 20, 2019 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born on July 9, 1947, in Johnson, Vt., a daughter of Paul Mayo and Zillah (Ingalls) Merriman. She attended local schools in Eden and Johnson, Vt.

Arlie has worked at various places over the years, including at an A&W Root Beer stand as a teenager, the Ingalls Slaughterhouse in Johnson, Vt., an in-home daycare, at a Vermont nursing home in the kitchen, as an aid in housekeeping and in laundry in a Maine nursing home. She also worked at the Toy Shop, Ames department store and H&R Block.

She loved to garden, dance, country music, bowling, and various crafts, including embroidery. Her favorite thing to do was spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Rowe Sr. of South Paris, whom she married in 1992; two children, William Spear and Teal Hutchinson; two stepchildren, Bruce Rowe and Karen Pelletier; four grandchildren, Julia Abbott, Tyler Pelletier, Carisa Rowe, and Timothy Hutchinson; two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Ashlynn Abbott; four brothers, Roger G. Paquin, Roland Paquin, Jason Paquin and his wife, Linda, and Jed Paquin; three sisters, Elaine Paquin, Yvonne Castora and her husband, Brian, and Monica Paquin; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Arlie will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., February 27, at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Interment will be in the spring at the Riverside Annex Cemetery. Condolences and tributes may be shared at www.chandlerfunerals.com
