LEWISTON — The Franco Center and Bates College Winter Dance Showcase, re-branded as FAB15 in honor of the partnership’s 15th year, returns with several performances by artists from all over Maine and regionally. The main show opens at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Gendron Franco Center. There will be a pre-show musical performance by Terrence Karn and Greg Boardman.

This year’s group of choreographers and dancers includes a mix of first-time participants and “old-timers.” It ranges from high school to college to professional with a mix of modern, hip hop, belly dance fusion and improvisation. Artists include Annie Kloppenberg; Norway’s Art Moves Dance Ensemble; Collective Motion; Cosmic Creations; Elisabeth Gwydir and Ellie Madwed from Bates; Isabella Valdes of Colby; Janoah…anygoodjokes? of Portland; Kelsei Steil; Molly Gawler; Nevaeh Dance Circus; Portland Dance Collective; Portland Youth Dance; Rachel Boggia/Riley Hopkins of New London, Connecticut; Rene Goddess Johnson of Portland; and Thornton Academy Dance Company.

FAB is a collaboration between Bates College and the Gendron Franco Center to present performances by artists from the Maine dance community and beyond. It aims to provide a space for artists to meet, make connections and share their work. In addition, it offers audiences an opportunity to witness the diversity of dance happening in Maine.

General admission tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased online at francocenter.org or at the box office from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday or by calling 207-689-2000. The main door will open at 6:30 p.m. The Gendron Franco Center is at 46 Cedar St.
