Kayden Boilard, 13, of Lewiston and her father, Kevin, set up a second Kaydenz Kitchen Food Pantry location Monday in the Hartley Block on Lisbon Street. The Lewiston Middle School student started the nonprofit with her parents in February 2017 at their home to help families needing food and clothing. In 2019, they moved to the Pepperell Mill at 550 Lisbon St. They added a second store in the Hartley Block to bring supplies closer to those who use them. “Monday was the first day to have the lights on to see how the two locations will co-exist,” Kevin Boilard said. “Both locations will be operational throughout the week.” Daryn Slover/Sun Journal Buy this Photo

Kayden Boilard, 13, of Lewiston and her father, Kevin, get the newest Kaydenz Kitchen Food Pantry store ready Monday in the Hartley Block on Lisbon Street in downtown Lewiston. The seventh-grader at Lewiston Middle School started the food pantry in February 2017 to help local families with food and clothing needs. Eventually the nonprofit established by her parents outgrew their home and moved to the Pepperell Mill at 550 Lisbon St. “Monday was the first day to have the lights on to see how the two locations will co-exist,” Kevin said. “Both locations will be operational throughout the week moving forward. If you would have said four years ago that Kayden would go from operating out of a bedroom to two locations with 4,500 square feet of space, I would not have believed you,” he said.
