GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kayleigh Gilbert hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Leavitt past Mountain Valley 40-37 Wednesday night in Rumford.

Leavitt was led by Alison Noniewicz with 11 points and Emelia Bowie with nine.

Autumn Freeman scored a game-high 15 points for the Falcons, Rylee Sevigney scored 10 and Ali Legere added seven.

OXFORD HILLS 56, EDWARD LITTLE 35: The Vikings raced out to a commanding lead and cruised to a road victory over the Red Eddies at Auburn.

Cassidy Dumont scored a game-high 17 points for Oxford Hills, and Ella Kellogg added 15.

Tess Robbins paced Edward Little with 11 points.

GARDINER 70, MONMOUTH 32: Savannah Brown scored 12 points to lead the Tigers to a win over the Mustangs in Monmouth.

Kassidy Collins had 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Lizzy Gruber had 10 points and 15 rebounds for Gardiner.

Emma Johnson led Monmouth with 17 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

DIRIGO 58, BUCKFIELD 42: Charlie Houghton and Bode Gray scored 16 points apiece to pace the Cougars to a road victory over the Bucks at Buckfield.

Trenton Hutchinson added nine points for Dirigo, which raced out to a big halftime lead.

Hudson Cregg scored a team-high 11 points for a balanced Buckfield offense.

POLAND 68, LAKE REGION 62: Hunter Gibson scored 21 points and Joseph Ringuette had 16 points as the Knights (3-1) beat the Lakers (1-4) at Poland.

Evam Willey scored 28 points for Lake Region. Noah Duprey had 16.

GARDINER 52, MONMOUTH 45, OT: Kalvin Catchings had 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Tigers to an overtime victory over the Mustangs in Gardiner.

Tied 45-45 at the end of regulation, the Tigers outscored the Mustangs 7-0 in overtime for the win.

Ryan Madore scored 13 points and had six rebounds for Gardiner.

Cam Armstrong led Monmouth with 12 points, while Manny Calder and Hayden Fletcher each added 11 points.

GIRLS HOCKEY

LEWISTON 4, CHEVERUS/OLD ORCHARD BEACH 1: Bailee St. Hilaire had a hand in all four goals for the Blue Devils (4-1-1) as they pulled away from the host Stags (1-3).

St. Hilaire opened the scoring, with an assist from Leah Dube, before Lucia Pompeo tied it for Cheverus in the first period.

Leah Landry scored the first of her two straight goals to give the Blue Devils the lead back in the second period. Dube and St. Hilaire assisted. St. Hilaire and Charlotte Cloutier assisted on Landry’s third-period goal, then St. Hilaire completed the scoring with an unassisted goal.

Kim McLaughlin stopped 10 of 11 shots for Lewiston. Stags goalie Ella Lemieux made 26 saves.

ST. DOMINIC/WINTHROP/GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 8, FALMOUTH 0: Madi Pelletier opened the scoring and finished with two goals and two assists to help lead the Saints to a resounding road victory over the Yachtsmen at Falmouth.

Giselle Ouellette also scored two goals for the Saints, who stretched a 2-0 lead into a 6-0 advantage with a four-goal second period. Taryn Cloutier had a goal and three assists, Abbie Ross had a goal and an assist, and Georgie Davidson and Anna Cote both added goals.

Whitney Adams was in goal for Falmouth against the Saints’ relentless offense, while Mady Boulet earned the win in net for St. Dom’s/Winthrop/Gray-NG.
