Romeo A. Daigle

LEWISTON – Romeo A. “Butterball” Daigle of Lewiston died Feb. 20, 2021 after a brief illness.

He was born in Lewiston, July 13, 1935, the son of Zepherin and Cecile Pepin Daigle.

Romeo was the loving husband of 61 years of Pauline Simard whom he married April 4, 1959 at Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica. Romeo worked at local shoe shops until their closing, Lownshoe, Bell Moc, Etonic/Tretorn and retired in 2002 from Environmental Services at CMMC. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Family Church.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline; daughter, Anne-Marie Dion, son, Michael and wife Linda Daigle; also, grandchildren, Joshua and Brianne Daigle, Benjamin Daigle, Devon and Jamie Bannister; great-grandchildren, Harper and Nora Daigle.

He was predeceased by his parents; infant daughter, Marie and infant son, David.

The family wishes to thank Russell Park for their caring concerns at his passing and Dr. Richard Kapplemann for all his care.

Services will take place on Wednesday, March 3. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa St., Lewiston. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, followed by committal rites held in the chapel at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
