I ask that Oxford residents vote to reject a change to the marijuana ordinance at a special town meeting to be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 4, at Oxford Elementary School on Pleasant Street.

As a former selectman and a backer of a very limited marijuana ordinance for our town, I am of the opinion that we don’t need more traffic on Route 26 under the influence of anything other than a clear head. We need to see residents at this meeting to vote and return to the original ordinance.

At this same meeting the town is also asking for a change of venue for the Oxford Town Office. For many reasons I back this proposal to relocate the town office to the Oxford Plaza, next to Daddy O’s restaurant. The current office space is a health hazard for the employees, and the cost of correcting this very old building is not fiscally responsible.

I ask residents to attend this meeting, listen to the pros and cons, and cast their votes.
