Normand Willie Paradis

FARMINGTON – Normand Willie Paradis, 90, a resident of Jay, passed away Sunday evening, March 7, 2021, at Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was born July 14, 1930, in Livermore Falls, the son of Alfred Paradis and Ida (Moreau) Paradis. He graduated from Livermore Falls High School. Normand served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On Feb. 27, 1954, at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Lewiston, he married Annabelle G. Jean. They made their home and raised their family in Jay and enjoyed wintering at Surfside Beach in South Carolina. He worked for Boise Cascade in Rumford, International Paper Company in Georgetown, South Carolina and in Jay as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the ¼ Century Club at International Paper Company. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, a member of the Knights of Columbus, AMVETS Post #33 in Jay and the VFW Post #3335, both in Jay. He also volunteered at the paper Museum in Livermore Falls. He is survived by his sons; Carey Alfred Paradis and his wife Loraine of Skowhegan, Richard Paradis and his wife Cyndy of Turner, Darian Paradis and his wife Tammy of Jay, and his daughter, Diane Berry and her husband Randy of Livermore, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, his sisters; Lorraine Mallett and Celine Wells of Wilton and Louise Lake of Fayette. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Annabelle G. Paradis, his infant son, Carey Normand Paradis, his sister in laws; Rita Castonguay, Beatrice Gallant, Lucille Cusson and Clemence Moreau, and his brother in laws; Roger and Roland Jean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church Street. Jay, Maine. Interment with full military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Arrangements made by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
