Sorry folks, I have not forgotten you fine folks.  I have been busy spewing out stories on quite a variety of other places.  Now I just got to get em all to kick in a nickel or two once in a while.  LOL  Just having fun at this time of day keeps me busy.  Lots of snow on the ground just means, I can’t mow the lawn this time of day. I just penned a small story about working at a local museum. More than once, I got the attitude that I was just a wood cutter. And everyone knows people cut wood only because they know nothing else to do. More than once, we got that “better than thou” attitude. We showed them just what type of metal we were made of. This had little to no effect on their attitude. Time to move on.  But this also reminded me of many times I got that attitude on other walks of life. I was raising pigs to help put food on the table. Oh, the pigs would get out on a regular basis. But when they heard my truck or the banging of the metal pail on rock, they came back home. I would then have to go see just where the electric fence was down. Thanks to the moose making his visit he just paid no mind to that tingle when he hit the fence. The top wire of the fence was less than two feet off the ground. The darn moose

just kept on going and taking the fence with him. Well momma pig had ten little piglets. A lot of the locals just loved the look of ole mamma pig. She was long and tall. Her ears flopped over and she had an enjoyable attitude. One day when my son was getting ready for his Junior prom miss piggy got out and wandered about.  Son had just washed and cleaned his chariot to show off when he went partying. Momma pig just enjoyed that car. There was a rubber strip just the right height.  She went all around that car just rubbing up against that strip. Needless to say, there was now a mud line all around that car. She had left a mud strip about two feet wide right by that rubber strip.  I knew what was happening.  We were sitting for supper and I looked out. That little car was just rocking back and forth. I got son’s attention to the event and he just laughed.  He was going to leave that mud strip there. He would surely be the only one in the parking lot with a wash job such as that. Just because our trucks are muddy. They may even have a bunch of duct tape or bailing wire holding it together. We are more normal then some may think. But I have to add here, our yardstick for measuring normal is shaped a bit different than others. What is normal?  Who is running right down the straight and narrow all of the time? We enjoy that abnormal event and try to learn a lesson from it. It is nice to be able to sit and laugh at danger and not be swayed by narrow minds. If we leave, it is because we are looking for peace. There is just no need to suffer any seconds due to some folks. I have worn many hats since I started working at age eight.  If we can not enjoy where we are, why stay?  Life comes around only once. Our choice is how we spend that time. I am not a traveler. But I am a wanderer.  I can wander the woods and mountains for days and be happy. This is my style of happy.   Enjoy your time folks.  Back away from those “greater than thou”  folks and move on. Unfortunately, you will find them everywhere.  Peace to you fine folks.   Learn to enjoy as you travel that bumpy road.          Ken White      COB  mountainman
