John V. Latuscha

LEWISTON – John V. Latuscha, 63, of Lewiston, peacefully passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Lewiston on May 5, 1957, a son of the late Alfred and Rita (Fontaine) Latuscha. He grew up in Lewiston and attended local schools. He graduated from Lewiston High School, class of 1976.

He worked for 30 years at Bath Iron Works as a sheet metal mechanic taking great pride in building ships for our nation’s defense. He also became a realtor, calling himself Realtor John.

He was a member of Holy Family Church in Lewiston and the Knights of Columbus.

John married the love of his life, Anne Pelletier, in March of 1992. They enjoyed many wonderful moments raising John’s son, Craig. John took pride in his son’s endeavors and always stated, “family comes first.”

John was a friend to many and stranger to none. He loved the Yankees (mostly because he loved to get everyone going!). He was an avid record collector and passed this love of music to his son and grandchildren. John only had to meet you once to remember you forever. His hobbies included building things, playing games, fishing, adding to his collections, and renovating his home and camp. John was so generous and kind willing to give anything he had. He was full of ideas and loved giving advice. He will be sadly missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Latuscha; his son, Craig Latuscha and wife Julie of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Lincoln and McKinley Latuscha; brother, Bob Latuscha and wife Annie of Lewiston, sister, Diann Akerley and husband Scott of Lisbon, sister, Carol Latuscha of Lewiston. He is also survived by his uncle Bob and aunt Joanne Baril and uncle Bob Fontaine; stepmother, Maxine Latuscha; stepsiblings; many nieces and nephews; and special cat, Chicago.

He was predeceased by his parents; stepfather, Lionel Beaudoin; and sisters, Linda Boucher and Janis Sylvester.

The family would like to thank the staff of Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice for their kindness and care.
