LIVERMORE FALLS — The Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Town Office to look at potential ways to opt in to allow marijuana businesses, medical and recreational adult-use, in town.
Members will look at the pros and cons of bringing the matter to vote and the pros and cons of developing an ordinance that would also need to go before voters, Rob Overton, code enforcement officer, said Monday.
After Dec. 13, 2018, municipalities considering allowing medical or adult-use marijuana facilities in town must opt in to the state program to have such businesses.
Residents voted 744-727 in November 2016 to approve recreational marijuana in a statewide, citizen initiative referendum.
