Timothy James Swan

RUMFORD – Timothy James Swan, 59, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Born in Rumford, Maine, on April 29, 1961, he was the son of Henry and Joyce (Spencer) Swan.

Tim was a graduate of Telstar High School with the class of 1978 in Bethel and went on to serve in the U.S. Army. Tim married his beloved wife, Evelyn (Lyons) Swan on May 29, 1982, in Mexico. He was the owner of Swan’s Jewelers and was a master gem cutter and jeweler. Tim was a member of the Mexico Congregational Church who carried a deep love and full heart for serving God.

He enjoyed fishing in Alaska with family and friends, vacationing in Florida (especially with his grandkids) playing cribbage, cards, poker, singing, golfing, hunting, watching New England Patriots football, working on his home, taking rides, camping, picnics, and cooking for all to enjoy.

Tim leaves behind the love of his life, Evelyn, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted and loving father to his beautiful sons and daughters, TJ Swan and wife Rachel of Rumford, Nathan Swan of Mexico, Devon (Swan) Wheeler and husband Ryan of Bethel, Meegan Swan of Rumford, and Sissel Esbjerg Jakobsen and husband Jens Hykkelbjerg of Aarhus, Denmark. He was a proud Grampa to his four grandchildren, Holden, Asher, Greyson, and Villads, who were the light of his life and he loved with all of his heart.

Tim’s greatest pride and joy was his family. They were everything to him and he loved doing everything for them. He appreciated the little things in life and lived each day to the fullest by helping others. The memories we all have of him will be cherished. Tim will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.

Tim is survived by brothers, Terry and wife Sandy of New Hampshire, Jody of Washington, Robert and wife Barbara of Alaska, and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
