LEWISTON — The Lewiston Recreation Division has hired Nicole Welch as recreation superintendent.
A Maine native, Welch comes to the city with 23 years of recreation experience. She brings with her a passion for connecting people through lifelong recreation and leisure opportunities that promote community socialization.
After graduating from Wells High School, Welch received her Bachelor of Science in community health from the University of Maine at Farmington in 2006. Her municipal recreation background most recently includes developing new specialized community events, additional child care opportunities and senior citizen socialization outings for the town of Buxton.
Welch has been a member of the Maine Recreation and Parks Association for a number of years and is the incoming vice president for the board of directors.
