100 Years Ago: 1921

The children held the center of the stage Tuesday night at the meeting of the Waterville Women’s club which was held at Library Hall, childrens’ night being observed. The program was in charge of the mothercraft department and was a credit both to the children who took part and to the ladies who arranged it.

50 Years Ago: 1971

Saturday, the Edward Little High School band will hold its annual Pop Concert. Performing will be the majorettes, band, choral Eddies, dance band, and a folk group. This year’s theme will be “The Beat Goes On,” under the direction of Allen Simons.

25 Years Ago: 1996

Janet Ramos, vice president general of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, presented an American flag to Auburn Mayor Robert Thorpe. The new flag will replace the worn one in Vincent Square, New Auburn. Other members of the group on hand for the ceremony were Frances Jordan, Leslie Wight, Muriel Sawyer, Martha Bearsley, Norrine Harper and Betty Lannan.
