Nannete Cote

GREENE – Our much loved mother and grandmother, Nannete Cote, 93, passed away at her home in Greene on April 8, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 7, 1927, to Leo and Ella Fontaine Butler in Waltham, Mass.

She was an amazing, beautiful soul who treasured her children and grandchildren. She loved large family gatherings where we would share food, laughter and stories. Oh and how she just loved garage sales to find those special bargains. All day shopping excursions with her daughters were extra special, and country rides and eating out with her sons were always a special treat. Her love for animals and their welfare was a passion for Nannette, and she said many times that she didn’t want flowers at her funeral but donations to a local shelter.

Nan worked at Ward Bros for over 25 years, and had special friendships there with Millie, Arvilla, Gini, Muriel, and Terry which was a bond that lasted their lifetimes.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Conrad Cote, a daughter-in-law, Donna Tolan Cote, and a granddaughter, Deven Trider.

She is survived by her children, Richard Cote and wife Lynn, Daniel Cote and wife Brenda, Nancy Hutchinson and husband Dale, Patricia Small and husband Sam, Donna Bradeen and husband Joe, and Lisa Gellately (a granddaughter she raised from infancy) and husband Jeff. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, 11 AM, Holy Family Church. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations and condolences may be found online at http://www.albert-burpee.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the
