Marylin Ellen (Smith) Barker

LIVERMORE FALLS – Marylin Ellen (Smith) Barker, 82, passed away on April 19, 2021 at her home in Livermore Falls, where she resided for nearly 40 years. Marylin was born in Wolfeboro, N.H. on Sept. 9, 1938 to Doris Hazel (Mack) and Walter Roy Smith.

She spent her former years in Tuftonboro, N.H. where she raised three daughters. Marylin was known for her bright clothing and adventurous nature.

She worked as a lunch lady at the Ossipee Central School, a secretary at Carter Milling, a C.N.A. at Greene Acres, an employee at Ames and recently celebrated her 28th anniversary with Walmart in Farmington.

Marylin loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens and enjoyed her well known display of solar lights. In Marylin’s youthful years she found joy in her community and helping neighbors. Later in life her neighbors helped her with snow removal, dropping off homemade goodies, and just checking in.

She had many cherished friends and co-workers but most of all, she loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had several cats over the years who were special to her.

Marylin is survived by her daughters, Terry Colby and husband Jeff, Penny Moniz and longtime partner Roland and Anita Colby; her grandchildren Jay Bachelder, Jaclyn (Bachelder) Bergmann and husband Fred, Randi (Moniz) Wilde and husband Gabe, Amanda Moody, Natasha Moody, Reggie Moody and Vicky Moniz; as well as her great grandchildren Tania Bachelder, Kahdiana Knight and Benjamin Bergmann.
