CANTON – Lola L. Newton, 77, of Augusta, passed away peacefully at Pinnacle Healthcare on Saturday, April 17, 2021.
She was born in West Paris on June 19, 1943, the daughter of Eldred E. and Norma G. Barrett Newton. She attended school in Sumner and graduated from Buckfield High School before attending nursing school at CMG, then earning her nursing degree from the University of Southern Maine. She worked as a teacher at Kennebec Valley Community College.
Lola enjoyed photography and in her later years relived many memories through her photos.
She is survived by her brother, Allan Newton of Canton; nephews, Matt and Christopher of Concord, N.H. and Paul of Hermitage, Tenn.; and a niece, Jessica Newton of Mechanic Falls.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Gilbert and Wayne; and numerous aunts and uncles.
