Wilfred R. “Bill” Guinard

JAY – Wilfred R. “Bill” Guinard, 74, a resident of Jay, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 22, 2021, at his home. He was born Aug. 26, 1946, in Portland, the son of Raymond and Geraldine (Lawson) Guinard. He graduated from Falmouth High School in the class of 1965 and attended Husson College. Bill proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War for two years, where he received the Bronze Star. He worked for Canada Dry Corporation for 20 years and Coca Cola in Farmington for 20 years, retiring in 2009.On Sept. 28, 1996, he married Judith Blodgett in Jay. He was a member of the AMVETS Lane Dube Post 33 in Jay, the George Bunton American Legion Post 10 in Livermore Falls, and the Hillside Sports Club in Jay. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3335 in Jay. Bill enjoyed watching high school basketball and baseball and followed all the Boston sports teams. He also was known as “Coach” for the Hillside softball team for many years. He will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Judith Guinard of Jay, his stepson, Kris Jerry of Jay and his sister, Jeannette Boyce of Windham, New Hampshire.
