Students and staff at RLRS are drinking safer water this year thanks to a generous gift from the Rangeley Alumni Association (RAA). The Association funded the purchase and installation of a new, state of art water bottle fill station servicing the High School wing at RLRS. The station features touch free activation, allowing students, faculty, and staff to fill their personal water bottles throughout the school day with clean, filtered drinking water. Users simply place their empty bottle on the device, activating sensors which start and stop the fresh water refill process, reducing the spread of germs and contaminants while lessening single use water bottle waste.
RAA is a civic minded group of Rangeley graduates focused on giving back to school and community. Established in 2010 to locate and connect past graduates, the active Association maintains a growing scholarship fund offering financial assistance to college bound RLRS seniors, distributes gently used goods to local families and hosts fundraisers throughout the year with a mission to encourage the advancement of education and to support the students, faculty and administration at RLRS. Anyone who previously attended or graduated from the Rangeley school system is encouraged to join the growing list of RAA members and volunteers.
