The Lakeside Dance Academy produced their Annual Spring Dance Concert in a Covid-safe format this year, on April 10, 2021 at the RFA Lakeside Theater in Rangeley. The theme for 2021 was “Change.”
With one class at a time in the theater, the dancers performed their rehearsed dances to an audience of family members only. Limited tech people were on hand for the whole day, as groups of dancers came with their family pods every 45 minutes to prepare for and perform their dances, before the next group arrived.
Our Production Staff included Choreography and Costume Design by Pam Ellis and Raina Sherrer, Lighting by Justin Orazi and Sound by Allison Steward. Our Costumes Mistress was Christa Gacki and Videographer was Lily Webber. The LDA would like to extend Special Thanks to Val Zapolsky, Millie Hoekstra and the Rangeley Friends of the Arts. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
