Paul A. Lacasse

LEWISTON – Paul A. Lacasse, 86, of Lewiston passed away on Saturday May 8, 2021 at the Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born on Nov. 16, 1934, the eleventh child of the late Arthur E. and Elna B. (Paradis) Lacasse. Paul grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools. In 1949 he graduated from Ste. Croix and from St. Dom’s in 1953 where he was a member of the press club. Paul was an altar boy at Ss. Peter and Paul and Ste. Croix.

He moved to California in 1956 and worked in pharmaceuticals and aerospace. He lived there for 40 years.

Paul will always be remembered for his love of gardening, the beaches, computers, writing and graphic design. He wrote three books on the genealogy of the Lacasse family dating back to 1595. His books are available in the Lewiston Public Library. He was a current member of the Prince of Peace Parish and an uncle to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He is survived by his sisters, Lorraine Farpelha of Tuscon, Ariz. and Rita Morency of Auburn. He also leaves behind his brother, Fr. Robert Lacasse, O.M.I. of Bolivia.

He was predeceased by his siblings Fernand, Leo, Romeo, Roland, Maurice, Emile, Normand, and Juliette Morin.

Due to Covid 19 restriction, the funeral home can only permit 50 people inside at one given time. Visitation will be held at Fortin\Lewiston on Monday May 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston on Tuesday May 18 at 11 a.m. followed by committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.
