AUBURN – Police identified the 72-year old man who was killed Friday afternoon in a motorcycle crash as Roger Chessey of West Bath.
According to police, Chessey was driving west on Lake Shore Drive when his motorcycle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Chessey, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said that speed and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, with the Lewiston Police Department assisting Auburn police with the crash reconstruction.
