PARIS — Troy Edmunds made 13 saves and Jake Mondor scored three goals as Oxford Hills beat Fryeburg Academy 7-5 in a boys lacrosse matchup Saturday at Gouin Athletic Complex.

The Vikings (4-3) also got two goals from Derrick Brooks and one from Nate Bancroft and Ryan Coolidge.

Tyler Day led the Raiders (4-3) with two goals. Haden Fox, Will Galligan and Bobby Hallum each scored once, and Patrick Harris made 10 saves.

BASEBALL

LEWISTON 10, BRUNSWICK 2: The Blue Devils (9-3) answered the Dragons’ (1-11) run in the third inning and kept the hot hitting going in their win in Lewiston.

Brunswick scored first with one run in the top of the third inning but Lewiston tied the game in the bottom half of the inning and then scored three runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Andon Cox notched three hits to lead all batters for Lewiston, while Danny May hit a home run and drove in three runs in the game. Josh Murphy also notched a triple and scored twice.

Brunswick’s Wes Cooper scored both runs for Brunswick in the loss.

OAK HILL 7, MONMOUTH ACADEMY 1: The Raiders (8-2) came out of the box slow, but sped up in the third and overtook the Mustangs (9-2) in Monmouth.

Gavin Rawstron struck out 12 batters on the mound for Oak Hill and went the distance to earn the win. At the plate for the Raiders, Trent Drouin tallied three hits and three runs on the day to lead all batters. Sophomore Ethan Vattaso earned two hits for Oak Hill, as well.

Monmouth’s Cam Armstrong pitched five innings and also notched a hit and a run at the plate in the loss.

SOFTBALL

LEWISTON 6, BRUNSWICK 3: A four-run first inning helped the Blue Devils (4-5) beat the Dragons (8-4) in Lewiston.

After Brunswick’s Kelsey Sullivan hit a two-run homer in the top of the first, Charlotte Cloutier tied it with a two-run homer in the bottom half, and Abby Chartier put Lewiston ahead with a two-run single.

Brunswick’s Blake Austin tripled in the second and was driven home by Hannah Fortier, but the Blue Devils scored a run in the fourth and another in the sixth.

Isabelle Cormier went the distance in the circle for Lewiston. Brunswick pitcher Ellie Sullivan struck out seven.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 11, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 2: Morgan Fusco launched a three-run homer in the first inning to start the Raiders (8-2) on their way to a win over thee Patriots (10-4) at Fryeburg.

Katy McIntrye also hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning and Camden Jones added and a two-run single as Fryeburg broke it open with a six-run outburst.

Winning pitcher Emilia DeSanctis allowed six hits and struck out eight.

Morgan Curtis had a single and a double and drove in a run for Gray-New Gloucester.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY SWEEPS ST. DOM’S: Mikayla Wallace drove in three runs and the Panthers (5-3) overcame a big comeback by the Saints (3-6), scoring two runs in the sixth inning for a 9-8 win and a doubleheader sweep in Auburn.

Alyssa Hart had two RBI for St. Dom’s.

In Game 1, Jasmine Huntsman, Carly Fanzo and Eliza Chace each had three RBI in a 24-6 victory. Chace collected four hits.

RANGELEY SWEEPS FOREST HILLS: Bree Quimby and Winnie LaRochelle led the Lakers in the circle and at the plate in a doubleheader sweep of the Tigers at Jackman.

Quimby was the winning pitcher during a 26-5, five-inning win in Game 1, and LaRochelle pitched during a 29-17, five-inning victory in Game 2. Both players had multiple hits in each game.

TELSTAR 8, RICHMOND 1: Behind the pitching of senior captain Brooklyn Kimball, the Rebels handled the Bobcats in Bethel.

Kimball struck out four batters. She also had a hit.

Payton Berry and Shelby Thorman had multi-hit games for Telstar, while Jewel Smith, Katie Evans and Natasha Mason each finished with one hit.

Nicole Tribbet, Lila Yisell, Bryannah Shea and Isabelle Stewart had hits for Richmond.

GIRLS LACROSSE

LAKE REGION 12, OXFORD HILLS 5: Katie Keenan scored four goals and set up two as the Lakers (6-4) defeated the Vikings in Naples.

Brianna Sargent added three goals, and Shauna Hancock had a goal and four assists.

Olivia Orlando led Oxford Hills with three goals.

BONNY EAGLE 18, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER/POLAND 5: The Scots (1-5) only had four goal-scorers but it was more than enough to take down the 26ers (1-7) in Gray.

Jocelyn Manson scored six goals to lead all scorers, while Kathryn Fullerton and Olivia Brown added five goals apiece in the win. Grace Dixon added on two more for Bonny Eagle.

Gray-New Gloucester/Poland’s Andrea Smith notched a hat trick, while teammates Cady Kluck and Ellie Smith added a goal each in the loss. Mackenzie Baston made 15 saves in goal for the 26ers.

MT. ARARAT 16, ST. DOMINIC 14: The Eagles (5-4) took down the Saints (4-5) in Auburn.

Mt. Ararat had five players score goals with Maddie Kinney leading the way with six. Maddie and Elsa Davlerio each had three goals. Goalie Amanda Pickens saved six shots in the win.

Taryn Cloutier of St. Dom’s led the team with six goals with Emily Wallingford close behind, notching four goals.
