AUBURN – Roger H. Pelletier of Auburn passed away at age 86 on May 24, 2021. Roger grew up in Little Canada in Lewiston and worked at various shoe and woven factories throughout his life. In retirement, he worked part time at Wal-Mart in Auburn. Roger was an Army Veteran who served overseas. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed classic movies, and though he enjoyed all forms of music, he favored ’70s and ’80s classic rock.
Roger is survived by his son, Dana and his wife Kari, his brother, Larry, as well as his three grandchildren; Stephanie and husband Jamien, Caity and husband Jared, and Jake and wife Carolyn.
Family meant everything to him. “That’s my wealth”, he would say about his three great-grand princesses, Nora, Raelin and Abby. In his last days, he was thrilled to learn he would be the great-grandfather to his first great-grand prince, due this November.
Per Roger’s wishes, no service will be held. He will be buried beside his best friend and soulmate, Louise Pelletier, at St. Peter’s Cemetery, where she promised to eternally do the cooking, and he promised to eternally do the cleaning.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
