Lora M. (Berry) Briggs

LEEDS – Mrs. Lora M. (Berry) Briggs, 94, passed away on Saturday evening, June 12, 2021, in Central Maine Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Hubert E. Briggs.

Lora was born July 31, 1926, in Auburn, Maine. She is the daughter of the late Ray and Doris (Glidden) Berry. She was a graduate of Sanford High School class of 1944. Lora lived in Leeds for the past eight years she previously resided for most of her life in Monmouth.

Lora worked as a hot lunch cook in the Monmouth School System for many years until her retirement in 1987.

She was a member of the United Church of Monmouth. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting watching tv and watching game shows. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Mystic Chapter #69 Litchfield.

She is survived by her two children, Joni Cooke and her husband Howard of Leeds and Stephen Briggs and his wife Cathy of Cumberland, her five grandchildren, Jenna Stewart and her husband Ryan, Jonathan Cooke and his wife Belinda, Kevin Cooke and his wife Callie, Benjamin Briggs and his wife Cynthia and Joshua Briggs and his wife Kate. She is also survived by her great-grandson, Teagan Cooke.

Lora’s Graveside Service will be in the East Wales Cemetery, East Road Wales, Maine on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 2 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
