Edwin Bryan Saunders

AUBURN – Edwin Bryan Saunders, or Bryan Saunders of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 6, 2021 at the age of 91. Bryan was born in Bangor, and graduated from Eddington High School. He joined the Navy after graduation and served the country for 20 years. When he left the Navy, he was a Senior Chief Structural Mechanic. After the Navy, he worked for the Department of Manpower Affairs as a Claims Deputy until he retired to play more golf. Bryan was addicted to golf and won countless awards and tournaments over the years.

Bryan had six children, Susan and her husband Bill Joy, Linda and her husband Alan Clark, Kathy and her husband Wayne Legassie, Deanna and her husband Dave Harper, Daryan Saunders and Jarrod Saunders, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and many, many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

Bryan was predeceased by his parents, Irma and Percy Nile, his brother Calvin and sister-in-law Gloria Nile, and his sister Marie Hatch. Bryan had one remaining sister Marlana and her husband Bruce Buckley.

The family will hold a private celebration of his life per his wishes. He was a quiet, gentle man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He had a love for animals.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of The Fortin Group 70 Horton St. Lewiston.
