Richard Frank Ham

LISBON FALLS – Richard Frank Ham of Lisbon Falls passed away on June 14, 2021 with his family by his side. Richard was born in Lisbon Falls, to Frank Ham and Margaret Ham Gamache on Sept. 20, 1939. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1956 and continued his education at the University of Maine at Orono where he graduated with honors in 1961 with a chemical engineering degree. In 1962 he married Connie Poulin, his wife of 58 years. Together they raised their three daughters here in Maine, with the exception of one year in Washington State. Their Love story was an exceptional one right up until the end. It had a beautiful ending as Dick reunited with Connie in heaven on the same day exactly one year apart. Dick’s career of 40-plus years was spent in the paper industry where he worked in and ran numerous paper mills in Maine and Washington State, including Pejepscot Paper Mill, which brought he and his family back to his hometown of Lisbon Falls. He then transitioned to a sales position selling chemicals to paper mills in all of New England. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. In his retirement, Dick enjoyed gardening, golfing and tying flies for Fly fishing. He also loved to bake bread and made a mean spaghetti sauce.

Dick loved his wife, children and grand children and made it his life’s mission to care for them. Dick was “ a guys guy” and loved chatting and visiting with his buddies. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Frank N. Ham, his mother, Margaret Gamache, his stepfather, Leo Gamache and the love of his life, Constance Poulin Ham. He leaves behind his three daughters whom he loved dearly, Heather Brannen of Poland, Kelly FitzPatrick and her husband Joel of Harpswell, Stacey Floerchinger of Bowdoinham, his sister, Jan Johnson and her husband Earl of Zephyr Hills, Florida, his sister-in-law, Sandra Pedersen and her husband David Pedersen of Canton Georgia. He also leaves behind his beloved seven grandchildren; Mikayla and Brayden Floerchinger, Paige and Sydney Gagne, Luke Watson and Wyley and Phoebe Fitzpatrick. A private service will be held at a time in the future.
