LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Schools Superintendent Jake Langlais is recovering from knee surgery to repair a torn ligament.
He said Wednesday that he partially tore his ACL, the anterior cruciate ligament that connects the femur to the tibia and helps stabilize the knee joint.
The procedure Monday morning resulted in that night’s scheduled School Committee meeting to be postponed to June 30. It will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Connors Elementary School.
Langlais said via email Wednesday that the injury “was the kind of tear that caused surgery to be expedited.”
He added, “Doing recovery as the doctor prescribes is important. It has been a very slow few days. I look forward to reintegration as each day passes.”
