Welcome to the world-famous Rangeley Lakes Region! Our remoteness, natural beauty, friendly people, and outdoor heritage blend to make an ideal place to spend some relaxing quality time.

The Town of Rangeley’s leadership stems from the five-member Board of Selectmen who provide policy and budget direction to the administration of the Town. My office oversees the implementation of the Board’s direction in coordination with the following departments: Police, Fire & Rescue, Code Enforcement, Finance, Town Clerk, and Public Services (Parks & Recreation, Solid Waste, Wastewater, Highways, Airport). In one way or another, each of these departments will enhance your time in Rangeley. We are pleased to provide these services to the residents and visitors of Rangeley, and we hope that you enjoy your Rangeley experience.

Sincerely,

Joe Roach

Rangeley Fire Rescue welcomes you to the Rangeley Lakes Region of Western Maine. Miles of trails, beautiful lakes, and local attractions.

Rangeley Fire Rescue operates out of two stations in Rangeley and Oquossoc covering 21 towns and townships that account for just under 650 square miles. Our department responds to emergencies that include fire suppression, water rescue, search & rescue and much more. We are a technical department that plans for a wide range of emergency response.

Be aware that once you’re off the beaten path you may not have cellphone service. Always check the weather for the day, it can change quickly here in the mountains. Let friends and family know your itinerary for the day and check in with them. Have a plan.

As the Public Services Director, I am but a small part of a team that makes up the departments of Highway, Transfer Station, Wastewater Treatment, and Parks & Recreation. These groups provide multiple services to this prestigious area. Highway works tirelessly keeping roadways clear and safe during the winter months. They make sure the boat docks are put in and taken out every year as well as infrastructure maintenance during the warmer seasons. The Transfer Station accommodates removal of household waste while facilitating bulky waste such as construction materials, furniture, and appliances. We operate extended business hours during the summer months to insure adequate opportunity of disposal. We all know what the Sewer department provides, and we are all thankful that this group and its facility is a step above ensuring that the waters of the Rangeley region are preserved. Parks and Recreation works to keep our Town parks clean and inviting as well as offering multiple programs throughout the year, most of which are concentrated in the summer months.

All these departments are very dedicated to proving a full-service infrastructure in a rural location. Our goal is that everyone who visits Rangeley has a seamless, relaxing experience. If you need assistance, have suggestions, or are simply curious in any of these areas, please do not hesitate to contact me at the Town Office at 207-864-3326.

We Welcome you to the neighborhood.

Welcome to the Rangeley Lakes Region, my favorite place on earth!

The Chamber of Commerce is here to provide information; from hiking trails to restaurant menus and almost everything in between. You can sign up for our weekly E-blast with current happenings, pick up the weekly list of  what’s going on in town  or pick up maps and brochures at our office in the town park. Weekdays we are open from 10 to 4 and July and August we add Saturday hours. Come in and meet Lisa and Verna at the information desk and maybe catch our executive Director Karen at her desk!

Whether you are here for a vacation or moving to this area, the Chamber is here to help! And if we don’t know the answer, we will try to find it for you!
