Barbara Rackley (Coburn) Bubier

LEWISTON – Barbara Rackley (Coburn) Bubier, 82 of Greene, passed away at Maine Medical Center on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, following a tragic injury at home and a short illness.

She was born in Lewiston on May 25, 1939, the daughter of Sylvia E. (Rackley) and Richard H. Coburn. She attended Greene schools and graduated in 1957 from Edward Little High School. Having grown up on the family’s dairy farm, Barbara attended beauty school and worked both as a hairdresser and at Knapp Shoe in Lewiston in her younger years.

Barbara married Gerald A. Bubier on Oct. 8, 1967 and they settled in Greene where they raised their family. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, family genealogy and town history. She was a member of the Greene Historical Society, The Androscoggin Grange #8 and other social organizations.

Barbara was always a very social person, having made many life-long friends, but was most often family-focused. Barbara is the last Coburn to live on the family farm in Greene which was established there in 1793, and worked by her father until the mid-1980s. The Coburns are a proud family of strong, hard-working famers and Barbara exemplified many of their traits.

For much of her life, Barbara dedicated a significant amount of her time to caring for and assisting her daughter, Pamela, who had Cystic Fibrosis. She was an active participant in Pam’s healthcare, assisted with the care of Pam’s children, and was always proud of Pam’s many achievements, as well those of all the rest of her family.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents Richard and Sylvia Coburn; her sister, Priscilla Coburn; and her daughter, Pamela Sirois, who passed in January.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Bubier of Greene; her son, Timothy Bubier and his significant other, Linda Ames of Livermore, her daughter, Kimberly Angello and her husband Larry Angello Jr. of Greene, son-in-law, Wesley Sirois of Greene; her grandchildren Skyler Bubier and his wife, Brianna Bailey of Gorham, Coburn Bubier of Scarborough, Nathan Devault and significant other, Alicia Richards of West Gardiner, Steven Parshall of Greene, Ben Sirois and his sisters, Abigail and Katelyn Sirois all of Greene. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Sydnie, Jacob and Andrew Bailey, the last of whom, unfortunately, Barbara was never able to meet, all of Gorham.

Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com.

Per Barbara’s request there will be no funeral. A private Graveside Memorial for both Barbara Bubier and her daughter, Pamela Sirois, will be held Saturday, August 7 at Valley Cemetery, Route 202 in Greene, followed by an Open Celebration of Life for friends and family at the home of Kimberly and Larry Angello Jr., 191 North Hatch Hill, Greene at 12 p.m. Arrangements by BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main St., Monmouth.
