LEWISTON — The L&A Veterans Council will unveil its 33rd memorial stone, containing the names of more than 200 local veterans, at 10 a.m. Sunday at a solemn ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park.

The ceremony is being held July 4 because the large granite marker was not ready by this past Memorial Day.

On Memorial Day, the council revealed a new monument honoring all Gold Star families.

A new monument honoring veterans of the Vietnam War will be dedicated on Veterans Day in November.

Veterans Memorial Park is beside Main Street along the Androscoggin River next to the Longley Bridge.
