
Barbara Durost Farina
AVON – Barbara Durost Farina, 94, of Avon, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 29, 2021. She was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, on June 28, 1927, the daughter of Reverend Morley and Alice Durost.
Growing up as a Baptist minister’s daughter, she went to quite a few schools in different towns – Marshall, Bridgewater, Houlton, and Mexico. She graduated from Mexico High School in 1944.
Over the years, she worked in the healthcare field, at G.H. Bass, and raised four children. Barbara married Michael Farina on January 15, 1955.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Margaret George; brother, Robert Durost; children, Bruce Farina and wife Marcia, Laura Bellemore and husband Michael, Nancy Wilkins and husband David, Michael Farina Jr. and wife Bambi; and many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Farina; parents, Morley and Alice Durost; brothers, David, Donald and Dick Durost; and sisters, Marjorie Gammon and Audrey Sweet.
There will be no funeral service. A family celebration of life and interment will be held at a scheduled date.
