Rene R. Poulin

AUBURN – Rene R. Poulin, 94, a resident of Auburn, formerly of Jay, passed away July 3, 2021, at Hospice House of Androscoggin with his loving family by his side.

He was born Feb. 15, 1927 in Jay, the son of Arthur Poulin and Ida (Jolicoeur) Poulin. He was a 1946 graduate of Jay High School and a 1949 graduate of Bliss Business College in Lewiston.

Rene proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On April 20, 1954 at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay he married Joyce Simoneau of Jay. He worked for International Paper Company Woodlands Division in the accounting department until his retirement in 1985.

He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and was a member of the Tri-Mill Chapter of the International Paper Quarter Century Club.

He enjoyed camping, going to Eustis, Florida and Myrtle Beach, S.C., and being a member of the Squire Town square dance group. He was very proud to be selected and participate in the Honor Flight Maine trip to Washington, D.C. in 2019.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Poulin of Auburn; sons, Ted Poulin and wife Jackie of Clarkesville, Ga., Brian Poulin and wife Josie of Leeds and Keith Poulin and wife Lynn of Andover, N.H.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Eugene “Mickey” Poulin, Laurier Poulin and Maurice Poulin and sisters Irma Poulin and Lorraine Houle.

A graveside service was held 2:30 p.m., July 6 at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park St., Livermore. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls.
