
LEWISTON — A 4-year-old girl suffered a leg injury Thursday afternoon when she was reportedly struck by a car on Knox Street.
Police were sent to the area of 62 Knox St. about 5:20 p.m. for a report of a child hit by a car near the corner of Maple Street.
The girl was taken by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center where she was being examined later Thursday.
In the aftermath of the crash, police interviewed several witnesses at the scene. They were also reviewing footage from video surveillance cameras in the area.
One woman parked in the area was being questioned, but it was not immediately clear if she was the driver who struck the girl.
The crash remained under investigation.
