To the Editor:
On June 24, 2021 friends and family joined together to share memories and documentation of the life of a quiet man.
Solemn ceremonies performed by American Legion Post 68 and the Jefferson Lodge honored Leroy Daniel Day for his life long service to country and community.
Thanks to all for allowing us to share more than a century of memorabilia that made Roy the man he was. Bethel Citizen articles written by Sarah Wright, Sam Wheeler, and Amy Chapman have been greatly appreciated by the family as we feel everyone should have a Roy Day in their life.
The ceremonies, guests sharing memories, music by the Shadagee Ramblers and refreshments provided by the Legion Auxiliary and the Eastern Star made for a celebration Dad would be proud of.
Love and miss you Dad.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
