Lola Gurschick

TURNER – Mrs. Lola Gurschick, 74, died Tuesday August 10, 2021 at her residence in Turner.

Born in Lewiston on July 18, 1947 she was a daughter of Basil and Louise (Keene) Bryant Sr. Lola was a graduate of Buckfield High School and the University of Maine at Portland. She worked as a 3rd grade teacher at the Buckfield School.

Lola was married in East Hebron on August 1, 1971 to Fritz Gurschick. Lola was a loving, devoted wife, following her husband through his many Air Force career assignments. One of her favorites was the assignment to Aviano AB, Italy, and living there for one year with Fritz and their two daughters.

Lola enjoyed being a stay at home Mom. She also enjoyed nature; watching birds, growing beautiful flowers especially her favorite, the stargazer lily and being active outside. She put in many hours working alongside Fritz building their house. They cut down and prepared their trees into lumber and beams to build their home where she enjoyed hosting many guests in their home over many years.

She was an active member of the East Hebron Baptist Church, she was a Sunday School Teacher and a Vacation Bible School Teacher, she was also a member of the Old Home Sunday Committee.

Lola is survived by her husband, Fritz Gurschick of Turner. Other survivors include her daughters Neysa Bean and husband William of Turner and Lisa Rawson and her husband Brian of Panama City, Fla.; her grandchildren Kayla Bancroft and husband Caleb, Kaitlin Bean, Taylor Bean, EmmaLee Bean, Lauren Bean; great-grandchildren Lorelai and Liam Bancroft and Zayden Campbell; her sister, Bev Cantin of Mexico.

She was predeceased by two brothers, James Bryant of West Minot and Basil Bryant II of East Hebron.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Friday August 13 at the North Auburn Cemetery on Skillings Corner Road. Friends and family are invited to call at the Chandler Funeral Home 45 Main St., South Paris on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. All are invited to join the family for a celebration of life, following Graveside services, at BQMC in North Turner. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader and Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
