DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have soap making supplies that I am no longer using and are free for the taking. The supplies include pretty silicone molds, books, recipes, a stick blender, etc. I can meet the recipient in Auburn to pass them along and can be reached at 225-3887. Please leave a message.—No name, no town

ANSWER: Be ready for a lot of calls!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Aug. 11, Sun Spots ran a column about the work Liliana Tripp, age 6, is continuing to do through her community nonprofit organization to empower and inspire others to reach out and assist under-served youth and families in their community. Unfortunately, the date of her bottle drive was omitted. Could you please run that letter again so I know what date to bring my bottles to her? — No name, no town

ANSWER: I do apologize. Sometimes these details slip by. I’m so proud of Liliana and her desire to help homeless children in the community by filling backpacks for their return to school. She is asking for donations of school supplies and funds to be used to fill backpacks for the children living in the shelters in Oxford County. Liliana’s goal is to fill 24 backpacks with required school supplies and new sneakers.

Liliana and her helpers are also conducting a bottle drive/lemonade stand at Longley Square in Norway on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. She will be collecting bottles to benefit her nonprofit, as well as selling lemonade and snacks.

Please write to FromLilwithLove@hotmail.com or call 577-6234 for more information or to make a donation.

I hope little Liliana will get a great response with her fundraising via collecting bottles, selling lemonade and more. Please help her if you can and tell her Ms. Sun Spots sent you!

We will be accepting vendors/crafters until we are full or until Nov. 6. — Angela, fair coordinator, no town

ANSWER: As always, I wish you great success with your fundraising efforts.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In regard to the Aug. 12 letter in Sun Spots about pest control, I called Pest Shield in West Paris because I had seen the company recommended in Sun Spots. It was discovered that I had an infestation of clover mites and I signed up for the quarterly  service that has a very reasonable  fee.

Later, I had wasp, yellow jacket and hornets’ nests under my porch and got attacked. I called Heather at Pest Shield and she quickly came over and took care of the issue. Having this service gives me peace of mind and I feel that I have done the right thing. My feeling is that a recommendation in Sun Spots is a recommendation from a friend. Again, thank you for the great  service you provide. — Louise, Lewiston
