Gallery 302 plans to welcome Christina Davis as the guest artist from Aug. 28 through Oct. 1 at 112 Main St. in Bridgton. Though the gallery is not having a reception with food, the public is invited to meet the artist and listen to a talk and demonstration by Davis at 5 p.m. opening night at the Gallery.
Davis grew up in Maine and attended the Portland School of Art as well as Texas Tech University. She pursued a career as a jeweler, but painting was always a consistent part of her art career as well. She works in oil, acrylic and pastels, enjoying the ways that each medium speaks to her. She paints landscapes because of her love of the beauty that surrounds her as well as the challenge of showing movement and light in a way that communicates her experience of connecting to a particular place.
The artist speaks of her painting process as follows: “My goal as a painter is to capture the essence of the beauty I see. I strive to translate these complexities and the peace of the natural world around us through my art.”
To learn more, stop in at the gallery any time while her art is being displayed, call 207-647-2787 or visit gallery302.com.
