Wayne R. Bean

NORWAY – Wayne R. Bean, 70, passed away on Tuesday August 31, 2021, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Wayne was born in Rumford on Dec. 9, 1950, to Richard W. and Dorothy (Hayes) Bean of Bethel.

He graduated from Telstar High School, class of 1969. After High School Wayne proudly served his country in the National Guard until honorable discharged in 1975.

Wayne had an unmatched work ethic. He was a self-employed plumber in the Bethel area for over 40 years, until his retirement in 2018.

On Dec. 5, 1969, Wayne married the love of his life, Wilma Harrington of East Bethel, there Wayne and Wilma lived and raised their two daughters Staci and Jennifer.

Wayne was an avid snowmobiler. He was a member of the Greenstock Snowmobile Club and Jo Mary Riders Snowmobile Club in Northern Maine. Wayne loved to fish and hunt. In early years, you could find him at Chamberlin Lake ice fishing and or hunting. In later years, he most of all loved to spend time with family especially at camp on First Roach Pond in French Town Township. Wayne passed on his passion of hunting and fishing and love for the outdoors on to his three grandchildren: Katie, Taylor and Gabe.

Wayne is survived by his wife Wilma of 51 years; daughters Staci Coolidge and husband Jim of Andover; Jennifer Merrill and husband Rick of Andover; three grandchildren, Katie Merrill of Fairfield, Taylor Merrill of Fairfield and Gabe Coolidge of Andover; his brother, Harlan Bean and wife Kathy of Effingham N.H.; along with many nieces and nephews.

Wayne is predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital and the Oncology Department for the care and comfort they provided Wayne and the entire family.
