100 Years Ago: 1921

What was termed as the greatest opening services ever held at the Elm St. Universalist church took place yesterday, with Dr. Roderick J. Mooney in the pulpit. The Sunday school was also largely attended. The ladies of the church are to serve luncheons at the Fair this week.

50 Years Ago: 1971

The Inner Peace Movement will be the subject of two workshops at The Roundhouse Motor Inn, Auburn, Friday and Saturday.  Dorothy Englert and Merry George will conduct the workshop “to help others improve their lives by developing increased self awareness and respect, awareness and respect.”

25 Years Ago: 1996

The National Association of Insurance Women International Androscoggin Valley will meet Wednesday at the Martindale Country Club when Leo Paquin, Hanover Insurance Co., CSP, and professional member of ASSE, will be the speaker. A get-acquainted hour will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 followed by the program. NAIW is an association of insurance professionals dedicated to development of leaders in the insurance industry.
