Richard J. LeBlond
NORWAY – Richard J. LeBlond, 82, of Norway, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021, at Stephens Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lewiston, Maine, on July 31, 1939, the son of Maurice and Lucienne (Brazas) LeBlond. Richard attended Oxford High School graduating in the class of 1957. After high school he joined the United States Air Force. After the Air Force he did a three year apprenticeship for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a jet engine metal smith, and then a four year apprenticeship at General Electric for tool and die. He worked for General Electric for 30 years.Richard married Sharon McConaghy on Sept. 11, 1965. He was a 40-year member of the EAA. A member of the Flying Gators radio control plane club. He had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed anything to do with flying or boating, but most of all he loved the time he spent with family.Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 56 years, his daughter, Victoria Campbell and her husband Douglas, two brothers, David LeBlond and wife Carol, Daniel LeBlond and his wife Kimberly, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Lucienne.Private interment at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
