Joseph E. “Bubba” Thibeault Jr.

RUMFORD – Mr. Joseph E. “Bubba” Thibeault, Jr., 79, died Monday Sept. 13, 2021 at the Rumford Hospital. He was a resident of Chase Ave in Mexico.

Born in Rumford on June 2, 1942, he was a son of Joseph and Dorothy (Daigle) Thibeault, Sr. He was a graduate of Mexico High School class of 1961. After high school he worked at Diamond National Mill and in 1962 he started working for Oxford Paper Company and retired in 2013 after 51 years.

Joe was a member of the Elks Lodge, Eagles club and the Snowshoe Club. His favorite past times were playing his guitar and sing with family and friends. He also loved riding his Harley, playing pool, and spending time with his grand kids and great grand kids. He will be sadly missed by many including his dogs BayLee and Bella.

He was married to his wife of 55 years, Carol Thompson, in Connecticut on Feb. 2, 1967, who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include three sons, Danny of Rumford, Jeff and wife Lisa of Niceville, Fla., Troy and his companion Angela Appleton of Windham; seven grandchildren, Lieutenant Travis Thibeault, USAF of Clovis, N.M., Lindsey and husband Devon Starchurski of Barksdale AFB, La., Brittany Wardwell of Dixfield, Brandon Thibeault of Windham, Alexis Wardwell and husband Jason Hutchinson of Dixfield, Emily Thibeault of Windham, and Jacob Thibeault of Rumford; four great-grandchildren, Braden Hutchinson, Carson, Raelee, and Ellie Starchurski; two sisters, Gaila Boboc and Evangeline Andrews. He was predeceased by his parents and in-laws, Vinal and Esley Thompson; brothers, Robert, Gary, and Wayne and sisters, Joanne Holt and Janet Bernard.

Graveside services will he held 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 18, 2021 at the Pineview Cemetery in Roxbury. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, ME
