GREENE – Ruth Mae (Draper) Cummings, 95, passed peacefully at home in her sleep on September 23, 2021. Born August 14, 1926, the oldest daughter of Percival G. Draper and Flossie M. (Beal) Draper. She is a 1944 graduate from Edward Little High School in Auburn. In her twenty’s she set off to see the country eventually meeting and marrying William M. (Bill) Cummings Jr. in New Haven, Connecticut on September 1, 1956. She settled into a homemaker’s life in West Haven, raising four children. After her husband’s early passing in 1976 she went to work to keep the family home until all the children were grown. In her early retirement years Ruth renewed her strong independent adventurous spirit traveling across country and abroad. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping, and socializing with family and friends. Ruthie will live on in the memories of her three sons, Daniel Cummings of Milford, CT. David (Anne) Cummings of West Haven, CT., Donald (Lisa) Cummings of Canton, ME, and loving daughter Diane (Michael) LeBlanc of Madison, CT. Ruth is also survived by eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews plus four sisters and husbands, Rena Wilbur, Rita and Kenneth Smith, Esther and Edward Rose, Donna and Donald Rose, all of Greene, ME. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was predeceased by her five brothers, Linwood, Everett, Floyd, Frank, & William Draper.
