AUBURN — A Pipe Organ Blessing and Concert is planned for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Sacred Heart Church, at the corner of Minot and Western avenues.

A buffet dinner is set for 5 p.m. and immediately following the blessing, officiated by Pastor Robert D. Lariviere, the evening’s program will include sacred music performed by music director John Mehrmann, former music director Leon Griesbach, and guest organist Scott Vaillancourt, music director St. Peter & Paul Basilica of Prince of Peace Parish.

The event is the highlight of the successful completion of a five-year project for the refurbishment and installation of a 1954 Casavant Opus 2277 Pipe Organ, acquired from the Sisters of Notre Dame in Toledo, Ohio.

Various fundraising events were presented in the community during the campaign, including four annual cabaret nights hosted by guest entertainer Louis Philippe, with an array of local talented musicians and singers, including Pam Vaillancourt, a vocalist and parishioner.

The donors who contributed to the Sr. Elizabeth Platt Pipe Organ Fund will also be recognized in a permanent memorial located near the organ.

Free tickets for the dinner are available at the parish office or after all Masses. Tickets are not needed for the celebration or concert. For more information, call the Immaculate Heart of Mary parish office at 207-782-8096.
